Crabbs & Crabbs is a family-run law firm servicing primarily York and Adams Counties. John Crabbs’s father Jesse L. Crabbs was a Hanover attorney until his passing in 1987 (Click here to read the article). Jesse L. Crabbs served as President of the York County Bar Association, Assistant District Attorney, founding director of the Greater Hanover Housing Corp., and member of the local Elks, Moose, and VFW, among others.
John and Muriel Crabbs established Crabbs & Crabbs and operated the firm while raising their family in the same small town. John, Muriel, and their daughter Ruth Crabbs Gunnell continue the family’s tradition of legal service and community involvement.
History
The attorneys at Crabbs & Crabbs have deep roots in the Hanover, Pennsylvania community. John Crabbs, a second-generation attorney, was raised in Hanover. His father Jesse L. Crabbs practiced law in Hanover from his return from World War II until his death in 1988. John’s grandfather had also been a prominent figure in the community, serving as Chief of Police, auctioneer, constable, and as the head of Crabbs Detective Agency.
John and Muriel have practiced law in Hanover for over 30 years and raised three children there. Ruth Crabbs Gunnell was raised in Hanover, where she now practices law and is raising a family of her own.
